Our mission is to address inequity by engaging our community in the making and appreciation of art. We do this by providing access to high quality arts education to individuals of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
In April 2020, Artsmiths began making free art kits for at-risk youth under the program, Art4AllPGH. What started with 100 simple dreamcatchers has grown to over 3,000 kits being designed, built and delivered around Pittsburgh.
Our kits are unique due to their high quality and skill building focus. We put young minds on the road to future art making by starting them with age appropriate designs of more complex mediums. Examples include Mosaics, Sculpture, Weaving and Knotting, Jewelry Making and Embroidery.
We couldn’t do all this without our Collaborative Partners. By working with awesome organizations that focus on serving at-risk youth, we are able to deliver our kits to our target audience. Our partners include Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania and South Hills Interfaith Mission.
