Intro to Embroidery with Michelle Quallich Lancet

CLASS DESCRIPTIONJoin sewing and needlework educator Michelle Quallich Lancet in the Cafe at The Artsmiths to learn embroidery basics. In this session you will learn how to prepare your embroidery project from design transfer options, fabric choices, and will learn basic stitches that are great for text, outlining, and filling in designs. Students will learn basic finishing techniques as well. Students will leave with basic stitching skills and instructions so embroidery adventures can continue beyond class time! No prior experience is necessary.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

TUITION: $40 (due at time of registration) + EVENTBRITE FEE$4.06 (due at time of registration) + MATERIAL FEE $10 (payable to the Artsmiths the day of the class)

MATERIALS: The one-time $10 materials fee covers:

  • Hoop
  • Pattern
  • Fabric
  • Thread
  • Needle
  • Take-home instructions

CLASS MINIMUM: 4 students.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Michelle Quallich Lancet is a lover and doer of all needle arts and currently sews and designs soft goods for Commonwealth Press. She loves teaching embroidery, sashiko mending, and introductory sewing courses because she likes to see the empowerment students gain from learning these new skills.

REFUND / CANCELLATION POLICY: Our instructors require a minimum number of students to teach. In order to minimize cancellations that inconvenience our instructors and other students, class cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the start of class. Students who comply with this requirement will receive a full refund. Students who do not comply will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee.
