Artsmiths of Pittsburgh is seeking a mosaic artist to teach in-person adult, child and teen educational programming at our Carnegie, PA location. Artsmiths will provide students with all necessary materials and will assist the artist with studio set-up and clean-up
Responsibilities:
- Commit to teaching at least one educational program per semester (five semesters per year). A program can be between one and six sessions long and will be scheduled based on studio and artist availability
- Submit class proposals and communicate with the Education Manager with supply needs
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before a program begins and clean-up from activities after each class
- Create an engaging and safe learning environment for all class participants
Qualifications:
- A demonstrated knowledge of mosaic tools, materials and processes
- Experience teaching is recommended but not required
- Act 33/34 and FBI Fingerprint Clearances should be submitted before an artist teaches child or teen programming but is not required for adult programming
Compensation:
Educators can expect to earn between $35 – $75 per instruction hour based on class enrollment. Instructors are paid using a 1099 contract. Educators also earn a discount in the Shop and are encouraged to submit an application to become a Shop artist
