Artsmiths of Pittsburgh is seeking artists to teach in-person adult programming at our Carnegie, PA location. We work with a variety of artists to provide diverse educational programming to our community.
Responsibilities:
- Commit to teaching at least one educational program within our five semester year. A program can be between one and six sessions long and will be scheduled based on studio and artist availability
- Submit class proposals and communicate with the Education Manager with supply needs
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before a program begins and clean-up from activities after each class
- Create an engaging and safe learning environment for all class participants
Qualifications:
- A demonstrated knowledge of a fine art or craft and its tools, materials and processes
- Experience teaching is recommended but not required
- Examples of Fine Art or craft mediums may include but are not limited to:
- Drawing
- Mixed Media
- Acrylic Painting
- Jewelry
- Weaving
- Embroidery
- Card Making
- Soap Making
- Sculpture

Compensation:
Educators can expect to earn between $35 – $75 per instruction hour based on class enrollment. Instructors are paid using a 1099 contract. Educators also earn a discount in the Shop and are encouraged to submit an application to become a Shop artist
