Watercolor Artist

Artsmiths of Pittsburgh is seeking a watercolor artist to teach in-person adult programming at our Carnegie, PA location

Responsibilities:

  • Commit to teaching at least one educational program per semester (four semesters per year). A program can be between one and six sessions long and will be scheduled based on studio and artist availability
  • Submit class proposals and communicate with the Education Manager with supply needs
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes before a program begins and clean-up from activities after each class
  • Create an engaging and safe learning environment for all class participants

Qualifications:

  • A demonstrated knowledge of watercolor tools, materials and processes
  • Experience teaching is recommended but not required
  • Act 33/34 and FBI Fingerprint Clearances should be submitted before an artist teaches teen programming but is not required for adult programming

Compensation:

Educators can expect to earn between $35 – $65 per instruction hour based on class enrollment. Instructors are paid using a 1099 contract. Educators also earn a discount in the Shop and are encouraged to submit an application to become a Shop artist
