Artsmiths is no longer operating classes.

Explore the endless mediums for art exploration. From PreK to Seniors, we seek to engage you. Our programs are run by talented and kind instructors who will meet you where you are in making. Beginners are our most common students but intermediate and advanced students can also take many of our classes and learn something new. Leave your fear of mistakes at the doorstep and immerse yourself in creativity.

FAQs and Policies

Where do classes take place?

At our Main St. location (329 E. Main St. Carnegie, PA. 15106) we offer in person classes, workshops and camps. This is also our main office and shop location. We also offer classes at offsite locations in our outreach programming.

Where does outreach take place?

Outreach is free programming that we offer in our community. Programs open to the public can take place indoors or outdoors at our space, at an art event, or at Carnegie Library and Music Hall. Programs at our collaborative partner locations are not open to the public.

What age does a student need to be to enroll in an Adult Class?

Students must be 18 and over to attend an adult class alone. Students 16 and over may attend a class with another registered adult.

What clearances do our staff have who are working with children?

All instructors who are working with children are required to have the following clearances:

PA Child Abuse History

What is our cancellation policy?

Students must cancel their class registration within 72 hours of the beginning of the program to receive a full refund. Students that must cancel after this timeframe due to illness will receive a gift certificate which can be used for future educational programs or merchandise. Cancellations can be made by emailing jena@artsmithspgh.org or by calling 412-341-2299 and SPEAKING to an Artsmiths’ Manager. Occasionally, classes are cancelled due to weather, insufficient enrollment or other circumstances. The decision to cancel a class or camp may be made up to 24 hours before the class begins. In such cases, we will notify you by email and the full class fee will be refunded.

Who do I contact if I have a special request, question or problem about/with a class?

All questions about or problems with classes and camps should be directed to the Education Manager, Jena Schieb at jena@artsmithspgh.org. If necessary, you can also contact the Executive Director, Kate McGrady at kate@artsmithspgh.org.

What is our Covid19, illness and mask policy?:

Masks
We follow the recommendations of the CDC for our Covid19 policies. All of our staff and instructors are fully vaccinated and will not attend class if ill. Students and customers who are not fully vaccinated or are immunocompromised should wear a mask in our space. No one may attend class if they are ill or test positive for Covid19.

Illness
All students and customer may not enter our space if they are exhibiting signs of illness such as a cough, fever, sore throat or loss of taste or smell as these may be signs of a Covid infection. In addition, if you have been in contact with anyone suspected or known to have Covid you may not come into our space or attend class. 
We are closely monitoring CDC recommendations and will alert students and customers to any changes in our policy. Please refer to our updated Cancellation Policy below for how we handle class credits.

Social Distancing
All students are responsible for their own space management based on their own comfort level.
